The ECCP is implementing a four-year EU-funded project entitled the “CRESCENT Project (or Creating REsponsible Sustainable and Competitive ENTerprises in the Agri-business Sector of BARMM” which is being initiated under the EU Bangsamoro Agro-Enterprise Program (BAEP). The project aims to contribute to a peaceful, cohesive, secure, and inclusively developed Bangsamoro by promoting rural and value chain development towards strengthening agri-fishery and rural enterprise engagement.
Last week, the ECCP met with the Minister of the Ministry of Trade, Investment and Tourism (MTIT) Abuamri Taddik. The Chamber also engaged with key officials from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR); the BARMM Board of Investments (BBOI); the Bangsamoro Economic Zone Authority (BEZA); and the BARMM Business Council.
The ECCP also hosted a roundtable discussion with agro-enterprises to discuss market access and regulatory concerns as well as challenges surrounding financing, Halal certification, logistics and internet connectivity. The Chamber also visited a cooperative in South Upi, Maguindanao as well as participated in the Mindanao Trade Expo Foundation, Inc. in Davao City.
